NoiseZone est essentiellement basé sur l’improvisation. Le dialogue entre les trois musiciens (batterie, percussions, cuivres et électronique) est très direct et impulsif, chargé en énergie.
Le projet est un travail récent de Sebastian Smolyn, Artur Smolyn et Daniel Buess, qui s’étaient déjà illustrés sur la scène d’avant-garde chacun de son côté (participations dans Defibrillator, Ensemble Phoenix, MIR, Cortex, ou collaborations avec des grands noms comme Peter Brötzmann, Zbigniew Karkowski, Antoine Chessex, Kasper Toeplitz, Tim Hodgkinson ou Z’EV, parmi d’autres).

Jason Kahn, drums

Bryan Eubanks and Jason Kahn have been working together since 2008. Last year they competed a 9-concert tour of the U.S. east coast and deep south. Their CD « Energy(Of) » (copy for your records) was recorded on this tour, and depicts the duo in their electronic mode, with Kahn playing analog synth.
For the December concerts in Switzerland, Kahn will be playing drum set, though we can expect a similar approach of spontaneous fragmented compositional forms and a kinetic energy driving their improvisations through collapse, stasis and burning momentum.

Laborintus et Rue du Nord
Laborintus, ensemble parisien à géométrie variable, et l’Ensemble rue du nord s’associent pour un projet au long cours. Au fil de concerts communs périodiques, partant d’improvisations ouvertes, émergent des directions, se dessinent des compositions pour les deux ensembles. Ceci est leur première rencontre.

Urs Leimgruber est un membre clé de la scène européenne de musique contemporaine improvisée. Il se spécialise dans des concerts en solo et se produit régulièrement avec le Trio Leimgruber, Jacques Demierre, Phillips ainsi qu’avec Quartet Noir (Marilyn Crispell, Joëlle Léandre, Fritz Hauser). Dans les années 70, il fut le co-fondateur du jazz électrique et du groupe de musique libre: l’OM.

« BY HARUO is the exprimental musician, wrestler and comedian, KUNICHIRO BUENO. KUNICHIRO BUENO was born August 10th, 1974 in Osaka, Japan. Osaka culture is the one for the comedians. From more than 500 years ago, Osaka people love the comedy. For Kunichiro, the Osaka comedy is also really important and he tried to be a comedian when he was 16 years old.
At the same time he loves Japanese professional wrestling like WWE in USA and tried to be a professional wrestler. He had JUDO black belt and the champion of the amature wrestling in Nara, which is the city near Osaka.
In addition, he began to play the accoustic guitar to just get the girlfriend.
To be the comedian, wrestler, and musician, he moved to Tokyo and made the music group which is called LO-FI NEISANS in 1996. He was a singer composing all the songs. His friends played the bass guitar and the drum. His ex-girlfriend wanted to play the guitar, but couldn’t play it. He made her play toys like Godilla, gun, sword and so on.
LO-FI NEISANS gave the shows, which the record label, EERIE MATERIAL arranged, at San Francisco in September,1999.
Kunichiro, with the members of LO-FI NEISANS, moved to SF and gave shows around there until 2004.
Kunichiro went back to Tokyo in 2004 and studied SHAKUHACHI, Japanese traditional flute until 2006.
In summer, 2006, he went back to Osaka and stared the perform of BY HARUO. The idea is same as LO-FI NEISANS. To be the comedian, wrestler and musician. What is the diffrence? He uses the drum machine wearing Mexican wrestler’s mask while his friends played the bass guitar and the drum wearing amature wrestling costumes.
From November, 2011, he began to travel for all over the world to give shows with CD which he recored at SF in 2002 with the members of LO-FI NEISANS. »

SOUDAIN Voix, parcimonie, grosse caisse, tact, langue, cris, grille à four, bouche, dents, nez, idioties, chaînes, métal et coquillage, poumons, cordes, labiales, baguettes, billes, caisse claire, jovialité, trachée, diaphragme, cymbales… Nous inventons avec toutes ces matières accumulées, une musique soudaine, organique, brusque et ludique, portée par le geste, la chute, le rebond, l’urgence, la crise.
